Serate d'artista - Dadamaino

These are a cycle of evening events, promoted by Open Care in collaboration with other partners and dedicated to the work and memory of a particular artist, consisting in a round table of experts and a Cena d’Artista  (Artist’s Dinner), organised by the Kitchens of the Frigoriferi Milanesi, the restaurant inside the complex.

The first edition of the review, dedicated to a number of great Italian artists from the Milan milieu of the second half of the twentieth century, was organised by Rosalia Pasqualino di Marineo, curator at the Milan Fondazione Piero Manzoni and had as its protagonists: Piero Manzoni, Dadamaino, Fausto Melotti and Gianni Colombo. The dinner, with an exclusive menu inspired by the artists, was created by the chef Antonietta Pasqualino di Marineo.

Dadamaino

During the Serata d’Artista dedicated to Dadamaino, the figure of the artist was outlined by the words of academics such as Elena Pontiggia and Flaminio Gualdoni as well as artists such as Pietro Coletta and Claudio Olivieri who experienced an intense intellectual complicity with Dadamaino. The title given to the evening “La sera andavamo in via Bitonto...” [In the evenings we went to Via Bitonto...] effectively aimed at evoking the vivid climate of the evenings at Dadamaino’s home as she was an excellent cook and perfect host as well as a great artist.

Two rare video testimonies were projected during the evening: the experiment Ricerca uno, a precious document of kinetic art made by the artist in the early 1960s, and the interview L’arte va sempre fatta con le mani, made in 1999 by Marina Spada.

The evening was organised in collaboration with the Archivio Dadamaino.
