Papers of the Artist’s Archives days
First edition papers
The initiative, which in its first two editions was supported by the Fondazione Piero Manzoni and the Centro Studi Giorgio Morandi, was created for the purpose of valorising the work of the Archives and activating a comparative platform for the greater study, during periodic meetings, of subjects of common interest such as, amongst others, the creation of a reasoned catalogue, the problem of fakes, the various archiving procedures and authentication.
During the first appointment, in which more than thirty Archives participated, a number of subjects of common interest were studied. The publication includes interventions by Alessandra Donati and Alessandro Castellano as well as an introduction by Filippo Tibertelli de Pisis and Elisabetta Galasso.
Second edition papers
The publication includes the papers of the Seconda giornata d’incontro tra gli archivi di pittori e scultori italiani del XX secolo. During this second appointment, which saw the participation of forty archives, experts intervened on specific subjects of common interest from the conservation of archive deposits on the part of museums, to the presence and use of digital resources for archiving, from the importance and delicacy of restoration to legal questions relating to the material in artists’ archives. Following the introductions byFilippo Tibertelli de Pisis and Elisabetta Galasso, are the interventions by Paola Pettenella, Simona Caraceni, Isabella Villafranca Soissons, Alessandra Donati, Maddalena Tibertelli de Pisis ed Elisa Camesasca, Marilena Pasquali, Bitta Leonetti, Marco Scotini and Silvia Fabro.
